Driveway Drinks: Mango Sour with Coconut Milk and Jasmine Tea Vodka

We've reached the first week of summer. The week that still weirdly feels like memorial day extended. The kids are home. All day. No camps have started, people are still getting in their groove, screen time is handed out like tiny free bibles on college campuses (that is to say, en masse), and to top it off, our A/C crapped out this week. You know-- right when the temps peaked at 95. Time for a tropical cocktail if I've ever heard of it!
This one is short and sweet. Inspired by a drink I had at Local Edition in San Francisco, this drink combines jasmine tea vodka, mango juice, coconut milk, and lime juice for a decidedly tropical and refreshing beverage made for sweltering temps and "STOP TOUCHING EACH OTHER" summer fun. Now please excuse me while I sit in the hammock with this cocktail, put in a podcast, and wait for the A/C guy to show up.
Mango Sour with Coconut Milk and Jasmine Tea Vodka
Makes 1 Cocktail
Ingredients
Juice of half of one lime (approx 1 oz)
3 oz mango juice
1 oz coconut milk
2 oz jasmine tea steeped vodka ("recipe" below)
Thai Basil garnish
Method
Crush up some clear ice cubes (you want this drink to be FROSTY) and fill a rocks glass.
In a cocktail shaker filled with ice, combine lime juice, mango juice, coconut milk, and vodka. Shake thoroughly until combined and strain into prepared glass. Garnish with thai basil (or sweet basil if you cant find Thai) and enjoy in the shade. Cheers!
To make the jasmine tea vodka: Pour vodka into small ball jar (or any jar with a lid) add 2-3 standard tea bags and let steep for at least 6 hours and up to 12. Remove tea bags and enjoy!
