The Beginning

My name is Reba and I’ve decided to do something very un-original: Start a Food Blog.
The story of how this particular little slice of self indulgence on the internet came to be was from a few reasons:
I really like to cook
As it turns out, I also really like to style and photograph the food I cook
I would like to document the recipes I create/make so every time I want to revisit a recipe I don’t have to check post-it flags shoved into stained cookbooks and old Food & Wine magazines, Pinterest, Chrome bookmarks, and emails. It is truly exhausting menu planning when every week you are literally surrounded by books, iPads and crumpled post-its. This is why some weeks my “menu” includes hot dogs on Wednesday nights. My goal here is a little more organization and search-ability.
Friends have been asking me to start a blog for like, 3 years. I can’t act like that isn’t part of it. I love to cook for my friends and neighbors and they’ll really only benefit from the extra food headed their way after a recipe is developed.
Add all those together and it seems pretty obvious that me starting a food blog was inevitable. Hopefully buried down in the midst of this ego trip I can help YOU meal plan for the week, put a dinner party together for friends, or wow your in-laws with a homemade angel food cake. At the very least I hope as you sit on your couch letting Netflix know that YES you are in fact still watching as your thumb lazily scrolls through your phone that I could at least make your stomach rumble and encourage you to get in the kitchen.
So join me in this exploit in home cooking and party throwing. There will be awkward moments. There will be bad writing. I will probably be VERY embarrassed of what I've written and the photos I've taken when I glance back at these first posts in a few months/years.
Add me to your own recipe hoarding list of bookmarks and pins and emails-- and let’s see if we can get through a few weeks without adding “hot dogs” for Wednesday dinner, shall we?
